Saturday morning Choral Workshop

11am - 1pm $20

Global Roots: Singing with Seth. Sing thrilling music from American tradition and around the world. Learn instant harmony, rhythms, and songs you will love. You do not need to know how to read music; Seth will also provide written music. Included will be Appalachian, Balkan African, shape note, and gospel music. RSVP!

Saturday afternoon Dance Workshop

1 - 3pm, $8

Contras, and how it all fits together. Learn dance skills, some moves, manners, how music fits the dance and what happens when it doesn’t. What callers and musicians do to make dances exciting or sublime. How to work together with each other on the dance floor. No matter what your level is, it will improve and you will appreciate so much more of what is happening on the floor. Take something with you from this workshop you can practice the rest of the weekend! (Small fee). RSVP!

Saturday afternoon Musician’s workshop with Lift Ticket

1 - 3pm $15 per person in a band

How musicians in a band work with each other, the caller, and the dancers to achieve maximum energy and maximum fun! Matching tunes to dances, styles of tunes to dances, medleys, and special effects. A private session on an instrument (fiddle, piano, or mandolin) also available. Fee for private lesson. RSVP!

Sunday afternoon Caller’s workshop

12:30 - 2:30pm no fee!

Learn skills on the mike, and skills behind the scenes. Callers, teachers, and anyone interested will enjoy this class. How to work your voice and timing- what to look for on the dance floor. How to overcome the challenges of working with all levels of dancers. Hands-on workshop with dancing and voice-on experience. Discussion on how to devise a program and choose dances that fit the gig and how to work with the band. CFOOTMAD will sponsor this workshop for callers and future callers to attend RSVP!
